Abstract

This study was conducted to design, construct, and evaluate the performance of an electric motor-operated cassava grater. The evaluation was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three replication. Three levels of speed (rpm) were used in the evaluation. Results revealed that the machine was effective in performing cassava grating operation. The grating capacity of the machine was 99kg/hr and its efficiency was 66.65agro-mechanization, grating capacity, grating recovery, root crops processing, cassava grater%. The feeding capacity was 148.32kg/hr. The performance of the machine depends largely on the operator’s feeding ability.
