Evaluation of a Portable Coconut Milk Extractor

The study was conducted to design and evaluate the performance of a portable screw-type coconut milk extractor to accommodate small scale coconut milk extracting operations. The evaluation was carried out using Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 replications. The coconut milk extractor was subjected to extracting different number of kilograms of mechanically and manually grated coconut respectively. Results showed that the extracting capacity of the machine significantly affected by the different number of kilograms of mechanically and manually grated coconut as well as the weight of extracted coconut milk and the weight of coconut fresh meal. The machine found effective and efficient in extracting milk on mechanically grated coconut.
