This study was conducted to analyze the interlanguage of selected students in their free writing composition. In this study, the researcher used descriptive research method. Using complete enumeration, he involved 31 second year students from the College of Teacher Education who were under him in English 2 during the School Year 2016-2017 at the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology. The findings of the study revealed that the errors of these students in their free writing composition were mostly on grammar. The grammatical errors which they committed in writing were attributed to the interference of the first language. In terms of interlanguage development, these students were in the final stage. On these bases, it was recommended that conducting a review on grammar in the English language might be given importance before teaching them content of other English subjects. Establishing a “speak English policy” especially in the campus might be considered too. Indeed, this study was deemed important as its results could be used as bases to further expand the scope of the study involving students across different levels and courses in school and promote policies which could be of help to the acquisition and learning of students of the English language.
